Files go straight from the browser to the bucket. The server signs the request and never touches a byte.
The brief
Sending a large file to a client still means a consumer cloud, an account the client does not want, or a link that lives forever. The brief was a private drop for one owner and the people they invite, with the files on storage they already pay for.
Our approach
One owner, invited members, and nothing else. Passkeys are the only way in, and a new browser is approved from a device that already holds one. Shared spaces for teams, direct shares between members, and anonymous upload and download links with a password, an expiry and a cap.
The build
Next.js on Vercel with Neon Postgres. Uploads are resumable and multipart, signed by the server but sent by the browser straight to an S3 compatible bucket, so no byte transits the app. Web push for approvals and activity, a nightly scan and cleanup, a strict content security policy and rate limits throughout.
The result
A quiet tool that does one job: files arrive, stay private, and leave only through links the owner decided on.
A product of our own, in daily use.
