em-modshop, Retro hardware store

A fully custom admin behind TOTP: revenue, profit and order stats, sales history, orders with refunds, tracking and print ready packing slips, products with eBay import, customers and reviews. Multi currency, shipping worldwide from one workshop.

The brief

A maker selling custom retro AV cables needed more than a shop template. The brand had to read like the bench it came from (precise, tested, a little obsessive) while running real commerce: checkout, orders, reviews, multi-currency, an admin that a single person could trust.

Our approach

We built the identity around the workshop itself: monospace and a bitmap display face, warm near-black, and a live `modshop.tty` panel that prints shop status and shipping rates like a console session. Every screen is the bench, not a marketing brochure.

The build

Full-stack on Next.js 16: PayPal server checkout, an order and review pipeline, transactional email, an exchange-rate cron, and a TOTP-secured admin with lockout tracking. Tight CSP/HSTS, bot protection, and tests in the build pipeline.

The result

Live and shipping worldwide. A one person business with the operational backbone of a much larger shop.
